About
James ³Õºº¾ãÀÖ²¿ III: Pursuing Style in the Age of Independence pays homage to benefactor James ³Õºº¾ãÀÖ²¿ III with an installation of compelling art and objects owned (and donated) by the ³Õºº¾ãÀÖ²¿ family. This exhibition reimagines the interior of James ³Õºº¾ãÀÖ²¿ III’s study, and includes objects as diverse as an eighteenth-century air pump, a suit worn by James ³Õºº¾ãÀÖ²¿ III himself, an impressive selection of books from James ³Õºº¾ãÀÖ²¿ III’s noted library, and a number of paintings from the ³Õºº¾ãÀÖ²¿ bequest. This is the second reinterpretation of the American collection funded by the Luce Foundation.
