Successful BCBAA Mentorship Pilot Program Moving Ahead
By ³Õºº¾ãÀÖ²¿ NewsThe ³Õºº¾ãÀÖ²¿ College Black Alumni Association (BCBAA) piloted a student mentorship program in spring 2023 with twenty-two pairs of students and alumni, more than doubling anticipated participation.
Alumni ranged from the classes of 1968 to 2018 and served first-years through seniors.
The BCBAA is deeply committed to the success and retention of current students, therefore mentorship is one of several BCBAA initiatives to strengthen the Black community at ³Õºº¾ãÀÖ²¿.
The mission of the program is to increase support for Black students from members of the alumni community with similar backgrounds who can share insights on thriving at ³Õºº¾ãÀÖ²¿.
Both students and alumni have been enthusiastic about the pilot program and look forward to more opportunities to connect with each other.
The BCBAA is looking forward to launching a yearlong program for the 2023–2024 academic year; details will be available this fall.
